Member Participation Needed to Identify NCDA’s Shared Values
Deadline April 30
Project Purpose
NCDA is in the process of identifying the shared values of NCDA that function as “life giving forces” in terms of “how we do our business” by looking at NCDA’s 105-year history and listening to our members. The set of values will be used to form and sustain a robust NCDA culture.
This project is aligned with NCDA’s Vision 2020 and identified as one of the strategic goals to make NCDA a vibrant organization. This project is carried out by Hyung “Joon” Yoon, our Trustee-at-Large and his three doctoral students studying Organization Development at Penn State. We plan to capture your positive stories with NCDA as NCDA members and your wishes for NCDA, taking a positive approach.
How Can Shared Values Be Useful?
The identified shared values will be used in guiding NCDA’s everyday practice as an organization. This can be helpful for the following areas, for example:
- Decision making process at different levels in the organization
- Performing various tasks
- Internal communication within and across different committees and internal groups
- Internal communication with its members
- External communication with other organizations and affiliates
How Can I Participate?
You can participate in this research by first responding to the initial survey. If you wish to share your positive experience with NCDA further, please volunteer to participate in an interview. Once the initial survey and interview data are collected, the preliminary results will be shared with all NCDA members to validate and prioritize the results.
