TRUSTEE Constituency: Private Practice, Business/Industry & Agencies (2025-28)

Amanda Chenkin, M.Ed, LCPC, CCC

Amanda Chenkin, M.Ed, LCPC, CCC has been in the career development field for over 20 years. She is the founder and owner of Choice Career Counseling, LLC in Baltimore, MD. Her practice is focused on delivering career counseling services to individual clients across functional roles and industries. Prior to launching her private practice full time she has held various roles spanning all three areas of the constituency group.  Her roles have included Community Development Volunteer for the U.S. Peace Corps; Staffing Specialist for a staffing firm in Boston, MA; Career Counselor at Front Range Community College and Larimer County Workforce Center in Fort Collins, CO; Career Development Director at Linden Resources in Arlington, VA and Advisor at Project Self-Sufficiency in Fort Collins, CO.  Her private practice started in 2017 and launched full-time in 2022.

In addition to her full-time work, Amanda currently serves as the Trustee for Private Practice, Business/Industry, and Agencies on the Board of NCDA. Prior to joining the Board she has been an active NCDA member since 2015, serving as a mentor for the NCDA Mentorship Program, Certified Career Counselor Credential Reviewer, and co-presented at the 2017, 2024, and 2025 Annual Global Conferences. Amanda has also appeared on NCDA webinars and podcasts on topics such as owning a private practice and career trauma.

Amanda has been described as “compassionately direct” when working with clients and colleagues. She strives to walk alongside her clients with compassion, kindness and humor.

Amanda received her Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Political Science from Frostburg State University and her Master of Education and Human Resource Studies, Counseling and Career Development Specialization from Colorado State University.
